Cheltenham charity bets: Day one

And they’re off! The first day of the festival is always a thriller, but who have Mike Lawton and Adrian Brown tipped to bring home the bacon?

Cheltenham kicks off with a raft of prestigious races but both of our tipsters have chosen horses running in the Champion Hurdle at 15.20.

The race, at just over two miles, has a fairly short field but as you would expect for the Festival the jockeys and horses competing are of a high calibre.

Faugheen, ridden by Ruby Walsh, is the favourite but Adrian Brown, who is set to leave Gallagher for Towergate, told Insurance Age that The New One is a good shot.
