Hiscox to buy MGA and HNW provider from R&Q

Deal expected to complete this quarter of 2015.

Hiscox has agreed to buy managing general agent R&Q Marine Services and the business of Synergy Insurance Services from Randall & Quilter.

No purchase prices were given in the announcement.

RQMS is an underwriting agency specialising in yachts and the general marine leisure industry, with business totalling £17m of gross written premium (GWP) in 2014.

Synergy is a specialist high net worth insurance provider with a book of high household and motor business totalling £6m of GWP in 2014.
