IBSC proposes grading system to classify clients' knowledge

The Insurance Brokers' Standards Council (IBSC) is consulting its members about the potential usefulness of a grading system which it said a group of experts have been working on for more than a decade.

The proposed system would formally classify clients' knowledge about insurance products with the organisation believing it could help brokers to successfully negotiate disputes.

Four categories have been suggested which are: a layman, an insurance experienced layman, an insurance sophisticated
