IFB to tackle more types of fraud
The bureau won't just focus on motor fraud and will add other deceptions like slip and trip scams.
The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) is expanding its fight against organised fraud with the launch of a new strategy that adds other areas to its work on motor fraud.
And according to the organisation brokers have an important role to play in tackling such crime, which currently costs around £2bn a year.
The bureau said until now there has been no focus on organised fraud beyond that relating to motoring, and a broader remit will help the industry make savings and protect honest policyholders.
