CMA ruling 'good news for brokers'

Market likely to be relieved referral fees to credit hire organisations remain untouched, but Biba says findings are “not enough”.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) report in the motor market is "good news for brokers" according to Martin Andrews, director general of the Credit Hire Organisation.

He explained that there were fears the CMA would ban referral fees to credit organisations - a move that would have hit brokers in the pocket.

However the regulator elected to not go down this route something that Andrews described as "win, win for brokers".

He argued that this meant that brokers would be able to keep
