Scotland votes no to independence

PM said he was delighted with majority no vote.

Scotland has voted no to independence.

Voters opted to stay in the UK with a majority of 2,001,926, against a yes vote of 1,617,989. Turnout was 84.6%.

Prime Minister David Cameron said: “The people of Scotland have spoken. It is a clear result.

“They have kept our country of four nations together. Like millions of other people, I am delighted.”
