With the football transfer window slamming shut this week we take a look at some of the most speculated about, and surprising transfers, in the insurance world.

5. Martin Oliver - A&A Group

Oliver whipped the rug from beneath A&A Group when he quit as chief executive after two years. He said the sudden resignation was to spend more time with his family in Glasgow. We can all agree it's a long commute between Middlesex, where the head office is, and Scotland!

4. Brendan McManus - Willis

Broker Willis was silent when McManus swiftly departed as chief executive in October 2011. The chairman and president of the broker welcomed his replacement, Tim Wright
