Family of Quinn Insurance founder sues state for loss of business.

The family of Sean Quinn, founder of Quinn Insurance, is suing the Central Bank in Ireland, the country's minister for finance and 10 ex Anglo Irish Bank directors, for €4.5bn [£3.6bn], the Irish Times has reported.

According to the paper, the legal action is seeking compensation for loss of the family's business empire due to alleged illegal lending by Anglo Irish Bank which lent the Quinn Group over €2bn.

The article highlighted that the claims are expected to be "vigorously defended".
