Liberty buys Hughes Insurance
Northern Ireland broker sold to Dublin-based insurer.
Liberty Insurance has bought Hughes Insurance, Insurance Age can reveal.
According to a source, all directors at the Northern Ireland-based broker will remain in the business.
The firm held a company-wide meeting at a hotel in Belfast this morning, when the announcement was made.
Hughes has 11 branches across Northern Ireland, and reported GWP of over £60m in 2013. The broker was previously rumoured to be in sales discussions with RSA.
Hughes was unavailable for comment.
