Axa Cardiff branch will launch on 3 June

New investment "very positive" for provider after "paying the price" of withdrawing from regions.

Axa will launch its new Cardiff branch on 3 June and has targeted growing staff numbers in the wider region from ten to 50.

The new operation, revealed by Insurance Age in February 2014, will be a satellite of the provider’s existing Bristol branch.

Ian Bromfield, Bristol and Cardiff branch manager, said: “We’re very much focusing on the regional presence.

“If you think about a lot of the insurers at the moment there’s a lot of talk about the region but actually there’s quite a lot of retraction
