UK General replaces QBE with Catlin in new capacity deal

Provider says split with QBE was amicable.

UK General has signed a three-year capacity arrangement with Catlin Group.

The deal will see Catlin provide capacity for UK General’s commercial book as well as the commercial portfolio for Rural Insurance, UK General’s specialist agricultural insurance subsidiary.

It replaces a similar arrangement with QBE.

Mike Keating, commercial managing director at UK General, said: “There have been some changes at QBE and that strategic alignment is perhaps not as strong as it once was.”
