Brokers express RSA support amid Lee resignation

Market rallies around insurer following departure of group chief executive.

Brokers have expressed their support for RSA following the resignation of group chief executive Simon Lee, a move which sent the insurer's share price falling by some 18%. 

The insurer today confirmed Lee's departure with immediate effect and also announced that its Irish reserves would need to be strengthened to the tune of £130m, in addition to the £70m previously announced last month.

It comes after RSA claims and finance issues were uncovered at RSA Ireland, leading to the suspensions of CEO
