Liberty Mutual grows UK and Ireland business by a third

Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe has reported a 33% increase in its UK and Ireland commercial operation gross written premium (GWP).

The provider posted GWP of $174m [£109m] for the year ended December 2012, up from $131m in 2011.

In its annual review, the insurer gave the example of opening a new office in Leeds as evidence of its continued investment in the UK midmarket corporate sector during 2012.

It added: “As well as broadening the regional distribution of product lines, we introduced new technology designed to further improve service to brokers and insureds.”
