IFED ghost broking investigation leads to 27 arrests
Police have arrested 27 people over allegations of ‘ghost broking’.
The arrests were made following an investigation into the sale of fake car insurance policies, carried out by the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED).
Officers from the City of London police, as well as officers from other forces, conducted a series of dawn raids in the Leicestershire, London, Manchester, Thames Valley and West Midlands areas.
DCI Dave Wood, head of IFED, said: “This day of action reveals ghost broking to be a UK-wide problem which is being met by a national law
