Axa COO Carruthers set to leave

Max Carruthers, chief operating officer (COO) at Axa commercial lines and personal intermediary, is leaving the business at the end of 2013.

Insurance Age can also reveal that the COO role is being discontinued, with responsibilities to be assumed by Jon Mitchell, operations director, and Ross Burns, IT director.

Carruthers will have been at Axa for two and a half years when he departs. He stated that this departure had been planned since he joined the provider.

His appointment was made at the behest of Amanda Blanc,  CEO of Axa commercial lines and personal intermediary, who previously worked with Carruthers at Towergate.
