Gallaghers buys Belmont

megabus

Arthur J. Gallagher has bought passenger transport specialist Belmont International for an undisclosed sum.

The Sevenoaks-based broker was established in 1988 by managing director Barrie Etchells to service the newly-privatised UK bus industry. It has since grown to employ more than 80 staff generating more than £55m gross written premium.

Gallaghers confirmed that Belmont will become part of its UK retail business - with the exception of its employee benefits division which will be used to complement Gallagher Employee Benefits.
