In the second of our concluding three-part video series, Steve Jenkins, director of financial services and insurance markets at the CII, gives the institute’s view.

Jenkins tackles whether chartered status is more than a badge and whether clients care about it.

As to whether chartered status is well promoted, he says: "The titles have only been around for a few years, we believe we have made a good start because the research shows that people do differentiate between chartered and non-chartered.

"There is more work that the CII needs to do and we are absolutely focused on building that momentum going forward."

He adds: "Chartered brokers need to do the same
