Farr extends three-year contract with homes provider

Social housing risk specialist Farr Insurance has secured a three-year contract extension worth some £340,000 to provide cover for Worcester Community Housing.

The Chelmsford-based broker - which was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher in May as part of its deal to buy Barbon Insurance Group - overcame competition from several other rivals to be awarded the contract.

The broker had previously provided cover for the not-for-profit company - which owns and manages Worcester City Council's rented homes - but, by law, the contract had come up for tender in the open market.
