Towergate confirms capture of Ellis Bates and crane hire business

Towergate Insurance has confirmed the acquisitions of Ellis Bates Insurance Brokers and the crane hire insurance business of Senior Wright Insurance Services.

Earlier this month, Insurance Age revealed that the consolidator was poised to buy the Grant Ellis-owned broker, with the deal resting on final approval from the Financial Conduct Authority. 

The two latest additions for the broker represent the 12th and 13th deals it has completed so far this year.

Ellis Bates Insurance Brokers, part of the Ellis Bates Group, was founded by Grant Ellis and Peter Bates more than 30 years ago. It boasts specialist schemes for coach and bus insurance, as well as
