JLT sees half year profits rise

Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Group has reported a 3% increase in profit before tax to £85.1m for the first six months of 2013.

The results for the half year saw total revenue grow to £487.2m (H1 2012: £441.7m) as profit after tax and non-controlling interests reached £59.2m (H1 2012: £57.2m).

The risk and insurance division also achieved a 7% growth in revenue to £372.2m for the period.

JLT Speciality delivered a 1% growth to £111.2m as Thistle UK's revenue increased by 2% to £15.4m. The company highlighted that the figure for the former reflected a shift in revenues into the second half of the year with growth for the
