Equity Red Star reveals motor division revamp

Mark Bacon

Equity Red Star (ERS) has unveiled the reorganisation of its motor divisions amid a clutch of senior underwriting appointments.

Last month, Equity Insurance Group, which consists of underwriting business ERS, confirmed that it would cut 200 jobs in order to pull back from the personal accident markets and refocus on specialist motor classes.

At the time, the company confirmed it would move to a solely broker-only distribution model.

And Lloyd's motor insurer ERS has confirmed that it will now be organised into five key segments - commercial motor, retail motor, motor fleet, bespoke motor and motor breakdown.
