Chartered status is not as important as a professional attitude when it comes to choosing an insurance broker, according to Kathryn Aves, office manager at Bluepoint Technologies.

The Colchester-based telecommunications installation company has been a client of Romero Insurance Brokers for the past five years.

The broker covers Bluepoint’s employers’, public and products liability insurance requirements, as well as its professional indemnity needs.

Ms Aves, who is responsible for dealing with the company’s insurance needs, said: “They are always on top of renewal dates, and they give us good support and feedback.”

And although Romero does have chartered status, Ms Aves

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
