Telematics broker Girls Drive Better to launch in July

A new telematics-based broker Girls Drive Better will launch on July 1 following a pilot.

The broker, which is headed by former Carole Nash man Simon Jackson, is aimed at 17-25 year-olds and is targeted at drivers "disadvantaged" by the EU gender directive.

"We know that since the ruling on the gender directive, motor insurance rates for women, particularly youngsters, have risen dramatically and that a lot of people are very unhappy about this," said Mr Jackson.

"Telematics products have been available for some years but, so far, retention rates have tended to be very poor."
