Chartered is one way but not the only way, says L&G

L&G values chartered status however it is not the only measure of professionalism among brokers that the provider looks for, according to Mark Holweger.

L&G's GI broker, intermediary and affinity director, told Insurance Age: "If they [brokers] have chartered status that is one indication of professionalism, but there are many other ways that a broker can show their professionalism.

"We take a wider approach when looking at that aspect for the brokers we do business with."

Mr Holweger, who has chartered status himself, highlighted brokers' approach to treating customers fairly as being key.
