HomeServe to cut 300 jobs

Jobs cut sign

HomeServe is to cut 300 roles in its UK business in an attempt to offset expected reductions in revenue.

The move is expected to cost the company £4m, and follows the loss of 200 jobs in February 2012.

The home repair and insurance firm said UK customer numbers were expected to be around 2.25m as of 31 March 2013, with the retention rate for the full year increasing to around 79% and over 80% in the final quarter.

The Financial Services Authority’s investigation into HomeServe’s past mis-selling issues is ongoing and is expected to continue for a number of months.
