Axa cites rival insurers for snubbing community brokers

Axa has taken a swipe at rival insurers for having "largely ignored" community brokers.

Matthew Reed, managing director, Axa commercial intermediary, claimed that insurers have instead "traditionally focused" their efforts on firms at the larger end of the scale.

It came as the insurer reported that the number of account-managed brokers at its Bolton-based National Trading Centre has increased from 100 to 1,000, following a £250,000 investment boost.

And speaking about the plight of smaller brokers, Mr Reed said: "This investment was directed specifically to support community
