
ABI research into motor claims cost sees whiplash hit 20%

The research, 'Lifting the bonnet on car insurance - what are the real costs?', found that whiplash claims alone accounted for 20% of premium income.
The study analysed where the premiums paid by the UK's 23.5m motorists went and, according to the insurer trade body, has dispelled the myths of motor insurance.
It found that while 29% was paid out on repair costs and replacement vehicles, the breakdown of what motor insurance premiums pay for also showed 20% going on whiplash claims and 15% on
