QBE to cut 700 jobs
QBE is to cut up to 700 positions across Europe, Australia and the US over the next few years.
At a media briefing, reported by The Australian, QBE's chief executive John Neal confirmed that some back-office operations would be moved to Manila and Bangalore.
According to the article, Mr Neal said: "Seven hundred is the ballpark for what we hope to achieve in our major operating divisions."
He also addressed media reports that the provider may relocate 3,000 jobs to the Philippines.
"Three thousand is nowhere near firmed up," he said. "We still need to have discussions with our workforce
