Lawton explains the new regime at Towergate

Mike Lawton, CEO of Towergate’s broking division, has explained his approach in his new role and what he has found at the consolidator in an exclusive interview with Insurance Age.

“When you come into a new role you spend the first 90 days understanding the organisation and looking for the opportunities and the biggest risks,” he commented.

“How do I get this business in the right shape to grow?” is the question he has been asking himself.

The broker has already seen a slew of changes in the Midlands.

With fifty offices under his command and 1,400 staff he claimed that the consolidator was not “taking out levels” but “getting the right shape for the business to take it
