ABI slams Biba’s claims research
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has waded into the debate surrounding research by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) alleging that insurers were becoming stricter on paying claims.
The development followed Biba claiming that 90% of brokers surveyed said they believed that insurers were becoming stricter on paying claims, mainly because of the economic climate and fraud.
However Aviva soon hit back stating that it disagreed with any suggestion that it was making it harder for customers to make or receive claims.
Nick Starling, director of general insurance at the ABI, has now also thrown the association's weight behind a rejection of Biba's findings.
