MOJ shuts another 200 claims companies

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has confirmed that between April and November last year it closed 209 claims management companies.

The Claims Management Regulation (CMR) Unit, part of the MoJ, also suspended three more operations and warned a further 140 taking the total affected to 352.

The closures represent the continuation of a sustained pattern.

In August the CMR's annual report revealed that 409 claims management businesses were either warned, suspended or cancelled between April 2011 and March 2012.
