UK General's new non-exec director to bring "broker's view" to board

UK General's new non-executive director Chris Blackham is hoping to give "a broker's view on the board".

Mr Blackham - who joined UK General on 1 December - founded consolidator Layton Blackham in 1984 and was also chairman and joint CEO of Venture Preference which later become Bluefin.

And speaking to Insurance Age about his new role at the Leeds-based provider, Mr Blackham said: "If you take what I originally did, Layton Blackham was a one-man band and I ended up running Bluefin.

"I have seen it all from the broker side - I can really identify with UK General's customers and their requirements
