AA welcomes extra flood defence cash

The AA Insurance has welcomed the news that the government will invest a further £120m on flood defences.

While the AA pointed out that this was too late for many families whose homes had already been flooded, director Simon Douglas said it was hard to imagine a better investment.

Mr Douglas added: “This year, 23,000 homes that would have been flooded, have remained dry: at a stroke, that more than repays the investment in the flood defences and alleviation schemes that protected them.

Applied updates on commercial push

Applied Systems has confirmed Arch Insurance is about to enter the pilot phase of onboarding and will be live on the Applied Epic broker management system in April, with Iprism and Ark to follow and more promised in 2024.
