Ecclesiastical to withdraw from UK broker motor market

Ecclesiastical Insurance will pull out of the UK broker motor market, Insurance Age can reveal.

Insurance Age understands that the provider will confirm the decision later this afternoon.

According to Ecclesiastical's website the insurer offers motor fleet insurance.

The product is designed to cover fleets - comprising both cars and/or commercial vehicles - under a single motor fleet insurance policy.

Last year, Ecclesiastical confirmed it had completed a review of its UK motor business.

According to the insurer's 2011 accounts, its motor business consisted of £37.29m gross written premium
