Hiscox chief executive Bronek Masojada has described the 2013 opening of its multi-function office in York as a "real statement" of its commitment to UK brokers.

The provider has confirmed the expansion, which will provide a mix of underwriting and support staff.

"It's a real statement of our commitment to the UK. The focus is really on business for brokers for effectively the North of the country."
