QBE is to close its office in Reading as part of a reorganisation of its relationship management structure for brokers and clients in the South of England.

The company confirmed that of the eleven people in Reading, eight were offered roles in London and Chelmsford and five accepted positions in these offices. The Reading office will close at the end of October.

Business currently handled by QBE's Reading office, which formed part of the company's acquisition of Brit UK's regional operations in April 2012, is being redistributed between QBE's London, Bristol and Birmingham offices and a new office which it is opening in Chelmsford.
