Weatherbys launches HNW broker

Weatherbys has teamed up with Charles Hamilton to launch high net worth intermediary Weatherbys Hamilton.

The new firm will focus on private client and bloodstock insurance. Mr Hamilton has been involved in the insurance sector for over 30 years while Weatherbys has provided services to the British racing and breeding industry since 1770.

Weatherbys confirmed that it expected approval for the start-up to be granted by the Financial Services Authority shortly. The new venture will have offices initially in Wellingborough and Newmarket and will be structured as a limited liability partnership with the

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
