Ecclesiastical goes to Allianz for new risk chief

Ecclesiastical has appointed Angus Roy as head of risk services.

Mr Roy joins from Allianz Commercial in Glasgow, where he was a senior risk control surveyor, and has also worked at Royal Sun & Alliance and AIG.

He will lead a team of 37, working across the UK, and will be divide his time between Glasgow and Ecclesiastical’s head office in Gloucester. He will report to David Bonehill, claims and risk services director.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
