Aviva director Wilford set to join Towergate

Aviva's shared services director Alison Wilford is reportedly set to join Towergate.

Sister title Post has reported that Ms Wilford, who joined Aviva in 2001, is working out her notice ahead of joining the broker next month.

She is poised to link up once more with former Aviva colleagues, Towergate chief executive Mark Hodges and group finance director Scott Egan.

Ms Wilford is expected to report into Mr Egan, who succeeded Ian Patrick in February 2011.

Before joining Aviva, Ms Wilford worked in senior finance roles at ABN Amro, Merril Lynch, Thomas Cook and KPMG.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
