Allianz confirms Chris Hanks departure

Simon McGinn is to replace Chris Hanks in the role of general manager at Allianz Commercial in 2013, the insurer has confirmed.

Insurance Age revealed yesterday that Mr Hanks was set to retire after 45 years in the business.

Andrew Torrance, Allianz chief executive, commented: “Chris has been an outstanding leader of our commercial business, a core member of my management board and a great ambassador for both our company and profession.

“I would like to thank Chris for his exceptional contribution to our sustained success and wish him a long and happy retirement.”

He added: "I am delighted that Simon McGinn will succeed
