AEGIS London makes cyber insurance swoop

boardroom-pp

AEGIS London has snapped up specialist technology underwriter Rick Welsh to launch a cyber insurance book.

Mr Welsh - who has written cyber insurance since 2000 for the likes of Ace, Novae and Aspen UK - will report to Alex Powell, AEGIS London's head of property.

The business will be written by a consortium of Lloyd's managing agents called the AEGIS Cyber Consortium and will provide solutions for both complex risks and SMEs.

Among the coverage offered will be privacy, technology liability, intellectual property, media liability, network security and business interruption.
