Fitch confirms Lloyd's A+ rating as stable
Fitch Ratings has affirmed Lloyd’s of London’s insurer financial strength (IFS) rating at A+, with a stable outlook.
The ratings agency said the affirmation reflected the insurer’s strong financial profile “which has demonstrated the ability to absorb what proved to be an unprecedented level of natural catastrophe losses sustained by the insurance industry during 2011”.
Fitch added that the rating also reflected its belief that Lloyd’s earnings will recover in 2012, driven by a marked improvement in its underwriting result.
