BLG aims to tackle 'gaping holes' with new product
Building and Land Guarantees (BLG) has launched a long-term repair works warranty in a bid to fill what it called gaping holes in the latent defects market.
Cover Shield, which BLG claimed was a market first, will provide a guarantee against defective workmanship, materials and design.
Director James Russell said the cover will put policyholders in the position they were in before any loss occurred.
He explained: "When I started dealing with repair works on houses and offices following fires, I realised that the property owner automatically invalidates any existing warranties when they carried out the repair works.
