Gallagher buys over 50's specialist broker

Arthur J. Gallagher has bought 78.5% of Insurance Dialogue (IDL), a specialist broker for the over 50’s market trading under the Insure4Retirement (I4R) brand.

Gallagher purchased all of Equity's 51% in the broker along with further shares from IDL's management who have retained the rest of the company.

The niche broker, which has 163 employees in total, focuses on personal lines business operating mainly from a Bournemouth-based outbound call centre and generates approximately £11.7m a year in revenue.
