LV hires claims director from American Express Insurance

LV has appointed Chris Rolland as claims director responsible for overseeing all aspects of claims within LV's general insurance business.

He will report to Peter Horton, LV’s chief operating officer.

Rolland has joined from American Express Insurance Services Europe, where he was CEO and vice president, responsible for running marketing, distribution, relationship management, risk and compliance, underwriting, regulatory controls and operations.

Prior to that, he worked for Legal & General and Bupa, holding various senior leadership roles, and was a member of the UK ABI PMI committee.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Horton said

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
