Blanc urges brokers to get online to defend SME market

Axa Commercial’s CEO, Amanda Blanc, has warned brokers they risk losing the SME space to the direct market if they continue to ignore the benefits of e-commerce.

The warning was delivered as Ms Blanc revealed that the insurer would release nine more SME products in its Simple range at a rate of every six to eight weeks adding to the existing property owners, D&O, tradesmen and professionals’ products.

She claimed that since the beginning of March, over 1,700 policies from the Simple range had been sold delivering £412,000 in premiums.

“If brokers don’t do something about e-commerce they will lose that space to the direct market,” she said.
