NIG aims to expand in Scottish market

Scotland flag

NIG plans to invest in its Scottish operation and grow its Glasgow-based team following feedback from brokers in the Scottish commercial and SME market.

A team of 12 Glasgow-based underwriters currently handle new business, but is to be given responsibility for Scottish renewals, which had been looked after by NIG’s Manchester operation.

The insurer said it planned to increase the number of underwriters in Scotland by up to 50% over the next two years.

NIG confirmed it had already recruited three business development managers and a sales coordinator and said it hoped to hire a new leader for the underwriting team.
