Markerstudy Group has confirmed it is providing £25m underwriting capacity to managing general agent Xpect.

The new MGA will target UK motor business and has been started by Colin Hart, former active underwriter at KGM, Lloyd's motor syndicate 260. The business will operate out of premises in Essex.

Mr Hart said: "I have 30 years' motor underwriting experience, 10 of which as the active underwriter for probably the most profitable motor syndicate in Lloyd's illustrious history.

"I understand what UK brokers are looking for and I can assist in specialist areas of the motor sector".
