Oliva management go it alone as Cooper Gay pulls capacity

Cooper Gay has pulled capacity from managing agency Oliva to focus its MGA strategy on international business.

Cooper Gay will relaunch its MGA business as Globe Underwriting while Oliva will continue under the existing management of founders Cliff Browne and Paul Bennett who will continue to write the existing property and casualty business.

Globe Underwriting will initially specialise in international marine, cargo and professional indemnity.

Oliva entered the UK market in the summer of 2008, promising to provide regional brokers with access to specialist markets.
