Esure's Wood hands over CEO role

Esure has promoted Stuart Vann, its chief operating officer for the past two years, to the role of chief executive officer.

Peter Wood, who has held the positions of chief executive and executive chairman since 2005, will now concentrate on the latter role.

On the appointment Mr Wood said: "Stuart and I have worked together for many years building Esure into a successful insurance business.

"His assured management of all of our operational functions - including underwriting and claims - has enabled us to navigate a difficult period for the industry with confidence and success."

Mr Wood added that the new title was

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
